A fleet of over 50 Ferraris has converged on the island of Sicily for the Ferrari Tribute and today enjoyed a first warm-up exercise in the build-up to the event which gets underway tomorrow. Also starting in tandem with the celebratory parade reserved for the Maranello cars is the Targa Florio Classica in which another group of history-making Prancing Horse models will be competing.
The start ceremony takes place in the Teatro Massimo in the heart of Palermo tomorrow evening while the three stages of the Ferrari Tribute play out between Friday and Sunday. Participants will traverse some of the island’s most beautiful areas, including Marsala, the Temple of Segesta, Calatafimi, the Conca d’Oro and the Circuito delle Madonie, which once provided the backdrop to the spectacular feats of motoring audacity for which the world’s oldest endurance race was renowned.
